The App processes SMS/MMS messages, recipients, contacts, attachments, block lists, and local backups to provide its messaging features. This content is processed on the device and is not provided to advertising or analytics services. Messages are sent and received through Android telephony services and the user's mobile carrier.
1. Who we are and scope of this policy
Messages: Text Messenger Home (the “App”) is developed by Samp Technologies (“we”, “us”, or “our”). This Privacy Policy applies to the App and describes our handling of information when you use its SMS/MMS, home launcher, backup, notification, and related features.
The App does not require you to create an account with us.
2. Data practices at a glance
3. Message, contact, and communication data
SMS and MMS
When the App is selected as your default SMS handler, it can read, display, receive, organize, search, send, delete, block, back up, and restore SMS/MMS data as necessary to provide the features you request. This may include message text, sender and recipient phone numbers, timestamps, delivery status, conversation metadata, and MMS attachments.
- Message and contact content is not used for advertising, analytics, profiling, or marketing.
- Message and contact content is not sold.
- Sending and receiving SMS/MMS necessarily involves Android telephony services and your mobile carrier; carrier processing is governed by your carrier's terms and privacy practices.
- If you attach a file, contact, or location to a message, that information is sent only to the recipient you choose through the applicable messaging service.
Contacts
With your permission, the App reads contacts and phone numbers to show contact names and photos, select recipients, create conversations, and improve the messaging experience. Contact data remains on the device except when you intentionally include contact information in a message or attachment.
Local message database
The App may maintain an on-device database and caches to display conversations efficiently, support categories, drafts, scheduled messages, blocked numbers, and user preferences. App-owned data is excluded from Android cloud backup and device-transfer backup.
4. Permissions and device access
| Permission or access | Why the App uses it |
|---|---|
| Read, receive, and send SMS/MMS | To act as the user-selected default SMS app and provide messaging, conversation, notification, blocking, backup, and restore features. |
| Contacts | To show names/photos, search contacts, and select message recipients. |
| Phone state / SIM information | To identify available SIM subscriptions, show SIM choices, and send through the SIM selected by the user. We do not use this access to build advertising profiles. |
| Approximate location | Requested only when you choose the location-sharing action while composing a message. The App obtains a one-time/recent location, converts it into a map link, and places that link in your draft for you to review before sending. |
| Photos, video, audio, camera, and files | To attach content you select, capture a photo for a message, and read or write a user-selected local backup file. Legacy storage permission is limited to older Android versions. |
| Notifications, vibration, and wake lock | To alert you to incoming messages, scheduled messages, backup/restore status, and optional app notifications. |
| Foreground service, boot, and exact alarms | To complete user-requested backup/restore work and support scheduled or time-sensitive messaging functions. |
| Installed launcher apps | When the optional Home Launcher is used, the App queries launchable apps so it can display the app drawer, icons, search results, and installation/removal changes. This list is not shared with advertising or analytics providers. |
| Network access | To load ads with consent, obtain remote app/ad configuration, send analytics and crash diagnostics, receive Firebase notifications, and transmit MMS through applicable carrier services. |
You can deny or revoke optional permissions in Android Settings. Some features will not work without the permissions required for those features.
5. Default-app roles
The App asks for your explicit choice before becoming the default SMS app or default Home launcher. The default SMS role is required for the App's core SMS functionality and related restricted permissions. The Home launcher role is optional. You can change either default at any time in Android Settings.
6. Local backup and restore
Backup and restore is user initiated. When you create a backup, the App writes supported message data to the folder you select using Android's document picker. We do not upload that backup to a developer-operated cloud server. You control the backup file and are responsible for protecting, moving, sharing, or deleting it. A storage provider you select may process the file under its own privacy terms.
7. Information processed by third-party services
The App includes third-party services that may automatically process limited information. Their processing does not include the content of your SMS/MMS messages, contacts, attachments, location links in drafts, or local backup files.
Google Firebase Analytics
May process app interactions, feature or screen events, app version, device model, operating system, approximate region derived from network information, and device/app identifiers. We use this information to understand app performance and feature usage. We do not intentionally place message text, phone numbers, contact names, or attachments in analytics events.
Google Firebase Crashlytics
May process crash logs, stack traces, diagnostic information, app state, device model, operating system, and installation identifiers to identify and fix stability problems. Crash reports are not intended to contain message or contact content.
Firebase Cloud Messaging
May process an app-instance notification token and technical delivery information to deliver optional app or feature notifications. This is separate from carrier SMS/MMS delivery.
Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) and User Messaging Platform
Where advertising is enabled, Google may process advertising identifiers, IP address, device and app information, approximate location derived from IP, consent choices, ad interactions, diagnostic information, and fraud-prevention signals to display, measure, secure, and—where permitted by your consent—personalize ads. SMS/MMS content, contacts, and user-selected attachments are not provided to the advertising SDK for ad targeting.
Google Play Install Referrer
The App may process Play Store referral and campaign-attribution information, such as referrer parameters and install/click timestamps, to determine whether an installation came from an advertising campaign and to measure campaign performance.
Remote configuration service
The App requests a small configuration file over HTTPS to control app and advertising settings. The service does not receive message or contact content from the App. Like most web services, the hosting infrastructure may process network metadata such as IP address, request time, response status, and basic connection information for delivery, security, and diagnostics.
Learn more about Google's practices at Google Privacy Policy, Firebase Privacy and Security, and How Google uses information for advertising.
8. Advertising and consent
Ads may be shown in parts of the App that are separate from private message content. Where required by law, the App uses Google's consent platform to request choices for personalized advertising and related data processing. Depending on your region and choices, ads may be personalized or non-personalized. You can revisit consent choices where the App provides that option and can manage advertising controls in your Google and Android settings.
We do not sell personal or sensitive user data, and we do not permit message content, contacts, SIM details, precise location, or backup content to be used for advertising.
9. How information is used and disclosed
Information is used only to:
- provide SMS/MMS, contact, attachment, notification, backup/restore, scheduling, blocking, and launcher features;
- maintain security, prevent fraud, and diagnose technical problems;
- measure app and advertising performance without using private message or contact content;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable terms.
We may disclose limited data to the service providers described above, to a mobile carrier or recipient when you send a message, when you intentionally share/export data, or when disclosure is required by applicable law. We do not publicly disclose your private messages or contacts.
10. Data security
We use reasonable technical measures designed to protect information, including Android permission controls, app-private storage, disabling Android cloud backup for app-owned data, and HTTPS for developer configuration requests. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You should keep your device locked and protect any local backup files you create.
11. Retention and deletion
- Messages and contacts: remain in Android's on-device telephony/contact stores until you delete them or the relevant system/provider retention rules apply. Uninstalling this App does not necessarily delete messages retained in Android's shared SMS/MMS database.
- App-owned database, caches, and preferences: retained on the device as needed for the App and normally removed when you clear App storage or uninstall the App.
- Local backup files: retained in the location you selected until you delete them.
- Analytics, crash, messaging, advertising, consent, and attribution data: retained by the applicable service provider according to its settings and privacy terms.
Because the App has no developer account system, there is no App account to delete. You can delete conversations within the App, clear the App's storage in Android Settings, delete exported backup files, reset or delete your advertising identifier where supported, revoke permissions, or uninstall the App. For questions or requests concerning data controlled by us, email smeet7134@gmail.com. We may need limited information to verify and process a request.
12. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive information about certain personal data processing, and to withdraw consent. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. To exercise a right relating to data controlled by us, contact us using the email below. Requests concerning data controlled independently by Google, your carrier, a recipient, or another storage provider should be directed to that party.
13. Children's privacy
The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly use the App to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review the request.
14. International processing
Third-party providers may process technical, analytics, advertising, or diagnostic information in countries other than your own. Where required, those providers and we rely on appropriate legal safeguards for international data transfers.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App, SDKs, legal requirements, or data practices. The revised policy will show a new effective date on this page. Material changes may also be communicated in the App or through the Play Store listing where appropriate.
